Italian Pizza Bites have all of the pizza flavors you love all in one (or two!) bites! They are the perfect way to transition your favorite Italian pizza into a fun finger-food snack.

Creating these Italian Pizza Bites

The ingredients in these snacks are simple. They are great for school lunch or an after school snack, to bring to birthday parties, bbq’s, football parties, etc.

Plus, they are made in a mini size muffin tin because everything in mini size is just more fun! If you don’t have a mini tin, you can make these in a regular size muffin tin as well.

We recently had Friday night pizza at our house and made some of the most delicious homemade pizzas!

But, we had a lot of toppings leftover and I thought a pizza muffin sounded so delicious. Sometimes a savory muffin, rather than a sweet muffin, hits the spot!

Italian Pizza Bites Ingredients

You’ll need a few basic ingredients for these bites. If you want to play around with different “flavors” of pizza you can too!

Try adding in different meat such as bacon or crumbled sausage, diced chicken and broccoli and dip in Alfredo sauce, or toss in veggies for a veggie lovers style pizza!

How to make Italian Pizza Bites

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. In a medium sized bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, dried basil and dried oregano.

Beat the egg and pour into the dry ingredients along with the milk. Stir. Then add in the chopped pepperoni, salami and mozzarella. Let this sit for ~10 minutes.

Spray a mini muffin tin or regular sized muffin tin with non-stick spray and spoon mixture into the cups. Bake for ~20 minutes, or until browned. I’d recommend to start checking in at 15 minutes. (Will make 24 mini or 12 regular size larger bites).

Serve warm with warm marinara sauce or pizza sauce.

Tips for making pizza bites:

  • Let the batter rest for 10 minutes instead of pouring right into the tins. This methods makes the end product less tough and more tender (due to the gluten essentially “relaxing”).
  • Cut up the salami and pepperoni into small pieces!
  • Add in other fun meats or add in veggies: ground sausage, diced chicken, bell peppers, Alfredo dipping sauce, etc.
  • Serve them right away! If making for meal prep, store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

My kids LOVE these! They’re great for a quick weeknight dinner served with some raw veggies on the side or sometimes I’ll throw them in cold as part of their school lunch.
