Dinner Decided: Week 6 Meal Plan

August is all about getting back into a routine, and this week’s Dinner, Decided menu is here to make that transition a little easier. We’re leaning on the slow cooker, sheet pan, one-pot, and no-boil dinners to keep cooking (and cleanup!) simple, with plenty of protein and family-friendly flavors along the way. Plus, we’re intentionally repurposing Wednesday’s leftover pork chops for Thursday’s quesadillas because any night we can make tomorrow’s dinner easier is a win!

With Dinner, Decided you’re getting:

  • Tested, developed, and retested recipes that work
  • Ingredients overlap (cook once, eat twice theory)
  • Leftovers get repurposed in creative ways.
  • Grocery spending stays reasonable.
  • Full shopping lists with swaps and substitution ideas
  • Food waste is minimized.
  • Most importantly…Dinner decisions are already made!

Why This Week Works

  • 🚌 Perfect for the back-to-school transition. August calls for dinners that are comforting but EASY, and this week delivers with a no-boil pasta bake, slow-cooker dinner, sheet-pan meal, and one-pot Friday dinner. I’m obsessed!
  • 🔄 Every night feels different. You’ve got cheesy Italian-inspired comfort food, fresh and flavorful orange chicken, tender pork chops, quesadillas, and creamy chicken mac and cheese, so there are no boring dinner repeats here!
  • 🥣 There’s a great balance of cozy + fresh. The Tortellini Bake and Chicken Mac & Cheese satisfy those comfort-food cravings, while the Orange Chicken Bowls can be loaded with broccoli, green beans, or edamame for something lighter midweek.
  • 💪🏻 Protein is covered. Most of the main dishes provide roughly 33-41g protein per serving, making this a really satisfying week of dinners.
  • 🧀 Wednesday intentionally helps with Thursday. Make extra Slow Cooker Pork Chops and repurpose the leftover pork in Thursday’s Sheet Pan Quesadillas. One night of cooking = a head start on tomorrow’s dinner and no need to buy another protein.
  • 🥦 Flexible sides keep things easy. Add whatever produce you already have to the Orange Chicken Bowls, serve the pork chops with a simple vegetable or mashed potatoes, and put out your family’s favorite quesadilla toppings.
  • 🍌 There’s something wholesome for the sweet treat, too. Healthy Banana Bread is an easy breakfast, snack, or dessert to have around all week, and you can make the loaf into muffins perfect for lunchboxes and grab-and-go breakfasts.
