We’re hooked on this super tasty slow cooker pork tenderloin recipe because:
- It’s way too hot to turn on the oven right now and
- It’s restaurant quality with Asian flavor vibes!
Pork tenderloin is a lean and delicately flavored meat. Since the meat is lean, it takes to marinades and sauces very well and cooks up perfectly in the slow cooker.
Anytime we want an easy, yet delectably delicious meal, the slow cooker does the trick.
Lately our favorite crock pot/slow cooker meals for dinner have been this Chicken Chili and these steak bites served with rice and veggies.
We have loved including this tasty slow cooker pork tenderloin into our menu rotation because it’s unique in flavor and makes for perfect leftovers for lunch the next day.
Plus, I’m all about making dinner recipes as low prep as possible without compromising taste or flavor!
Ingredients You Need
You can scroll down to the recipe card for the full list of ingredients and measurements.
- Pork Tenderloin: I used about two, 1 lb. tenderloins. You will want to look for the long piece of meat (about 7-8 inches) and not a pork loin.
- Broth: The recipe calls for chicken broth but you can use vegetable broth or beef broth too.
- Soy sauce: low sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos
- Brown sugar: a little bit of brown sugar adds just enough sweetness to balance out the salty notes.
- Hoisin: the hoisin adds umami – sweet and tangy!
- Sesame oil: it provides wonderful flavor and fragrance to the pork. Use toasted sesame oil for a deeper flavor.
- Garlic and ginger: fresh preferred for optimal flavor
- Cornstarch: Helps to thicken the sauce

Tips for slow cooker pork tenderloin
- This recipe calls for 2 pork tenderloins (~2- 2 1/2 lbs) but you can easily halve the recipe if needed.
- There is a difference between a pork loin and pork tenderloin. This recipe calls for using pork tenderloins (the longer, thinner meat). A pork loin is about 3-4 lbs. each and a pork tenderloin will weigh about 1 lb.
- Cook until a meat thermometer inserted in the largest part of the tenderloin (usually in the middle) reads 145°F.
- If you want to bake in the oven, bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes or until they reach 145°F.
- Slice or shred the pork, it works either way. Up to you!
How long to cook pork tenderloin
You will want to cook this pork tenderloin on HIGH for 3-4 hours or LOW for 4-6 hours for fall-apart, tender, juicy pork.
What to do with leftovers
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for lunch or leftovers for dinner for up to 3 days.
- You can also freeze for up to 3 months and when ready to eat, defrost in the fridge and reheat on the stove or in the microwave.
