Dinner, Decided: Week 7 Meal Plan

September always feels like one of those months where everything suddenly gets busy. School is back in full swing, activities and schedules are picking up, and at the same time, I’m starting to crave all the cozy fall foods. This week’s Dinner, Decided lineup really meets us in the middle!

There are quick weeknight wins like my Saucy Ground Beef and Noodles and Potato Taco Bowls, a hands-off Slow Cooker Chili Crisp Chicken for the middle-of-the-week craziness, and then we start leaning into comfort food with Shrimp Scampi Alfredo and Cheeseburger Soup as we head toward the weekend. There’s a really nice mix of proteins, flavors and cooking methods so dinner doesn’t feel repetitive, but everything is still approachable enough for a busy week. And the No Bake Date Brownies are the perfect little sweet treat because September is busy enough, we don’t need to turn on the oven for dessert, too!

With Dinner, Decided you’re getting:

  • Tested, developed, and retested recipes that work
  • Ingredients overlap (cook once, eat twice theory)
  • Leftovers get repurposed in creative ways.
  • Grocery spending stays reasonable.
  • Full shopping lists with swaps and substitution ideas
  • Food waste is minimized.
  • Most importantly…Dinner decisions are already made!

Why This Week Works

  • 📆 Built for busy September schedules: Every meal is weeknight-friendly, with a mix of quick-cooking recipes and a hands-off slow cooker dinner for an especially hectic day.
  • ☀️ ➡️ 🍁 Transitions from summer into fall: The fresh toppings and bowl-style meals still feel light and colorful, while Shrimp Scampi Alfredo and Cheeseburger Soup start bringing in those cozy comfort-food vibes we crave as the weather changes.
  • 💪🏻 Plenty of protein variety: Beef, chicken, shrimp, and another beef dinner keep you from eating the same protein night after night.
  • 🔄 Different flavors every night: You go from savory Asian-inspired noodles → taco bowls → sweet-spicy chili crisp chicken → creamy lemony shrimp pasta → classic cheeseburger flavors.
  • 🥦 Easy to add veggies: Broccoli, green beans, edamame, fresh bowl toppings, side salads, or whatever produce you have on hand can easily round out these meals.
  • 🥡 Leftovers are actually useful: The ground beef and noodles, taco components, chili crisp chicken, and cheeseburger soup all reheat well for easy lunches.
