You might have seen me talk about this dipping oil when I originally published my cheesy pull apart garlic bread but this olive oil dip is so good I decided it deserved its own post.

This is my mom’s famous bread dipping oil and it’s truly a family favorite. We make it at just about every holiday and you can enjoy it with any type of fresh bread or rolls.

Why this recipe works

  • Quick and easy to make: You can throw this dipping oil together in less than 5 minutes.
  • The perfect party dip or appetizer: This dip is guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser no matter what!
  • Simple ingredients: Whip up this dipping oil in a moments notice since it’s made with just a few simple, staple ingredients.

Ingredient Notes

  • Olive oil: this is my favorite olive oil to use! I recommend using a high quality extra virgin olive oil that’s rich and bold in flavor since it’s the star of the show!
  • Balsamic vinegar: gives this dip just a touch of acidity and sweetness. You can also use a fresh squeeze of lemon juice instead if you prefer.
  • Garlic: I highly recommend using fresh cloves of garlic. Garlic powder just will not taste the same, nor provide the same texture. You can easily adjust the amount of garlic based on your preference.
  • Seasonings: you’ll need Italian seasoning, salt and red pepper chili flakes (optional if you like a bit of heat!)
  • Cheese: I used freshly shredded asiago and parmesan cheese. You must use freshly shredded cheese for this recipe to taste right!
