To make, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.

Cut in the butter using a pastry blender until pea-sized pieces form.

Whisk together the sour cream and buttermilk in a small bowl and then add to the dry ingredients, mixing gently until a shaggy dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface, like a cutting board, and gently pat it into a rectangle, it should be about 1 inch thick.

Using a knife or bench scraper, cut the dough into 4 sections.

Stack each quadrant on top of each other and press down to flatten.

Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out into a 1 inch thick rectangle.

Cut into squares using a knife.

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet with the sides touching each other. Freeze biscuits for 10-15 minutes.

Brush the tops of the biscuits with the melted butter.

Reduce the oven temperature down to 400°F. And bake for ~14 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and the biscuits are cooked through. YUM!
