Apple Galette 

it's like an apple pie, but easier! (I think!)

cut cold butter into flour mixture. 

add in ice cold water to bring the dough together

note: this can also be made in a food processor

water will help dough come together

shape into a disk, cover with plastic wrap & chill in fridge

meanwhile, make the apple filling

toss everything to coat apples

roll out chilled dough

use rolling pin to transfer dough to a baking sheet

arrange apples & fold the rim of  dough up and over apples, overlapping the dough as you go around and pleating the dough

bake, and spread apricot jam on top

serve with vanilla ice cream!
